If you consider yourself a hardcore gamer, then you need to experience Digger T. Rock: Legend of the Lost City for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). This platformer is regarded as one of the hardest games on the NES. You need only play for a minute to understand why. Digger T. Rock is digging far underground hoping to find a lost city. His adventure is incredibly dangerous! Digger has to make it to the door to the next level before it closes. A timer at the bottom of the screen tells you how much time he has left. If he runs out of time, he must stand on a pillar the opens the door and restores the amount of time he has. Later levels may begin with the door already being closed, so you will have to find the pillar to open it.
On top of finding a door hidden in a maze-like level, he has to fend off all kinds of animals hoping to hill him, from mosquitos, to dinosaurs! Digger will pick up treasures and new items he can use to take care of enemies and obstacles. Bonus stages in between levels see Digger trying to collect all the treasures in the stage before a rock crushes him.
